Overview

The Eaton 9PX3000GRT is a double-conversion online uninterruptible power supply designed for IT infrastructure requiring continuous, conditioned power with zero transfer time. It is deployed by network engineers and data center operators to protect critical rack-mounted equipment from voltage instability, frequency variation, and complete utility failure.

The unit provides 3000VA / 3000W output capacity with unity power factor, supporting higher-density IT loads within a 2U footprint. It operates across a nominal 200–240V input range with an L6-20P connection and delivers regulated output voltage within tight tolerances. The UPS includes eight IEC C13 and two IEC C19 output receptacles, allowing mixed-load connectivity for servers, storage systems, and network switches. True sine wave output ensures compatibility with active PFC power supplies, while internal bypass capability maintains load continuity during internal faults or maintenance.

This model is designed for deployment in standard 19-inch rack environments, including IDF and MDF network rooms, edge compute cabinets, and small data center racks operating on single-phase 208V power. Its 2U rack height aligns with common rack layouts, enabling installation alongside servers and PDUs without requiring additional rack space allocation.

The 9PX3000GRT integrates with Eaton’s power management ecosystem through a MiniSlot expansion interface supporting network, relay, and Modbus cards. It includes USB and RS-232 communication interfaces for direct system integration and supports centralized shutdown using Eaton Intelligent Power Software. This allows coordinated shutdown across physical and virtual systems during extended outages.

In a practical deployment, the unit supports multiple rack servers and switching equipment within a single cabinet, providing sufficient runtime to bridge short-duration outages or execute automated shutdown sequences. Load segmentation across output groups allows prioritization of critical devices when operating on battery.

This UPS is not suitable for three-phase environments, parallel UPS scaling architectures, or deployments requiring input connections beyond L6-20P capacity. It is also not intended for low-load scenarios where online UPS efficiency overhead is unnecessary.
