Overview

The Eaton SMART5000TEL3U is a 5 kVA / 3.75 kW line-interactive UPS designed for 208 V data-centre and network-rack environments where clean sine-wave output, high density and 3U rack-mount form factor matter. It delivers regulated 208 V output from raw AC input (typically 174-282 V) using automatic voltage regulation (AVR) so that many brownouts and over-voltages are corrected without drawing from the battery bank. The unit supports mixed loads: full 208 V output for primary IT equipment while offering a pair of 120 V outlets (limited to ~600 VA) for auxiliary loads such as monitors or telecom gear—giving flexibility in deployment. With hot-swappable internal VRLA batteries, USB + DB9 (RS-232) ports and an optional network-management card slot, this UPS enables remote monitoring, alerting and unattended shutdown. The 3U rack/tower convertible chassis ships pre-assembled with mounting hardware, making it suitable for 4-post racks, tower placement or tight cabinet spaces. With an efficiency of ~97% in line-mode, it lowers operational cost while delivering reliable protection for servers, storage, access switches, IP-telephony and other critical infrastructure.
