The StarTech P10Q4A-USB-CARD is a high-performance PCIe expansion card designed to upgrade legacy desktops or servers with modern USB-A connectivity. It addresses the bandwidth limitations of standard USB hubs by providing four independent 10Gbps USB-A ports, making it ideal for high-speed data transfers, external storage arrays, and high-resolution imaging peripherals.

Built with a dual-controller architecture, this card utilizes two ASMedia ASM3142 chipsets and an integrated PCIe switch. This configuration allows for up to 20Gbps of total aggregate bandwidth, effectively providing dedicated 10Gbps lanes for paired ports to ensure consistent performance during simultaneous device operation. The card draws power directly from the PCIe slot but includes an optional SATA power connector for high-draw bus-powered devices.

Optimized for professional workstations and media production rigs, the card installs into a PCIe x4 Gen 3 slot (or higher) and is compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is not recommended for systems restricted to PCIe x1 slots which would throttle performance, nor does it support legacy PCI slots. This card is intended for data transfer only and does not support video signal transmission via USB-A.
