The Lenovo 40AJ0135US ThinkPad Ultra Docking Station is a specialized mechanical side-docking solution designed for corporate-grade ThinkPad laptops. It solves the daily inconvenience of connecting multiple cables by providing a “one-click” physical docking mechanism. This ensures a stable, high-bandwidth connection for power, video, and data through a proprietary dual USB-C and ethernet side connector.
Built for heavy-duty office use, the Ultra Docking Station supports up to three displays, including two 4K resolutions at 60Hz. It provides a comprehensive array of ports, including high-speed USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and enterprise-essential networking. Unlike universal USB-C docks, the mechanical nature of the 40AJ0135US ensures the laptop is physically secured and aligned, making it a staple for traditional corporate desk environments.
Deployment is intended for large-scale enterprise rollouts where manageability and security are paramount. It supports critical IT features such as PXE boot, Wake-On-LAN, and MAC address pass-through. This dock is specifically compatible with selected 2018 through 2020 generations of the ThinkPad T, X, and L series that feature the side-docking port. It is not compatible with newer ThinkPad models that have transitioned entirely to cable-based universal docking.
