Intellinet 507509 – 10G WDM SFP+ Transceiver

Overview:

The Intellinet 507509 is a 10 Gigabit WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) bi-directional SFP+ transceiver module designed for 10GBase-SR connections over single-mode fiber using a single fiber strand. It is used by network engineers and data center technicians to maximize fiber utilization by transmitting and receiving on different wavelengths over one fiber.

This SFP+ transceiver solves the challenge of doubling fiber capacity or utilizing single-strand fiber infrastructure for 10 Gbps connections. It uses WDM technology with separate transmit and receive wavelengths (1550nm and 1310nm) over a single LC single-mode fiber connection. The module supports distances up to 10 km (6.2 miles) and is fully MSA-compliant.

Deployment is in any MSA-compliant switch or router with an SFP+ port. The module must be paired with a matching WDM transceiver using opposite transmit/receive wavelengths. It is not suitable for multi-mode fiber applications or for use with standard (non-WDM) SFP+ transceivers.
