Overview :

The HP JD493A is a compact SFP transceiver module designed for engineers deploying gigabit Ethernet links over multimode fibre. It supports 1000Base-SX traffic at up to about 1.25 Gb/s, and uses an 850 nm VCSEL transmitter to operate over multimode fibre runs up to 500–550 metres. This transceiver is typically used in enterprise data-centres, campus fibre links or edge aggregation where multimode fibre is available, not single-mode. It fits into standard SFP ports on HP networking equipment and integrates with HP’s transceiver ecosystem and management for hot-plug deployment and optical monitoring.
