Overview

The Eaton 9PX700RT is a double-conversion online UPS designed to provide continuous, conditioned power to critical IT and network equipment. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers and facility operators to protect against power outages, voltage fluctuations, and frequency instability in environments where uptime is required. The unit delivers consistent output power by isolating connected loads from input anomalies.

This UPS provides a 700VA / 630W power capacity and operates using an online double-conversion topology. It continuously converts incoming AC to DC and back to AC, ensuring zero transfer time during power events. The system supports 230V output environments and includes multiple IEC output receptacles for direct connection to servers, networking devices, and storage systems.

The 9PX700RT is designed for flexible deployment in both rack-mounted and tower configurations. It fits standard 19-inch racks using a 2U form factor or can be installed vertically in space-constrained environments. It is commonly used in small data centers, branch offices, and network closets where stable power is required for edge infrastructure.

The unit integrates with Eaton power management platforms and supports remote monitoring through optional network management cards. It is compatible with virtualization platforms and shutdown software, allowing controlled system shutdown during extended outages. The UPS operates within standard 220–240V power ecosystems and supports connection to upstream generators or facility power feeds.

In a practical deployment, the 9PX700RT can support a small rack containing a firewall, access switches, and a compact server. During a utility failure, the UPS maintains power while initiating automated shutdown procedures through management software, preventing data loss and hardware stress.

This UPS is not suitable for high-density racks with large power demands exceeding 630W or for environments requiring three-phase input/output systems. It is also not intended for extended runtime applications without additional external battery modules.
