The TRENDnet TEG-MGBS10D5 is a high-performance, hot-pluggable SFP transceiver designed for single-mode fiber optic applications. It provides a reliable and cost-effective solution for extending Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over long distances, making it ideal for deployment in enterprise campuses, business parks, and manufacturing facilities. This module operates over a single fiber strand by utilizing bi-directional Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology, which significantly reduces fiber cabling costs. Engineered for reliability, the TEG-MGBS10D5 supports data rates up to 1.25 Gbps and can extend network distances up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). It achieves this by transmitting on a 1550nm wavelength and receiving on a 1310nm wavelength. For proper operation, it must be paired with a corresponding module, such as TRENDnet’s TEG-MGBS10D3, that transmits and receives on the opposite wavelengths.
