Overview
The APC AP6002A is a passive rack power distribution unit designed to deliver central AC power distribution for IT racks where intelligent control is not required. It is deployed by infrastructure and facilities teams to distribute a single high‑current feed to multiple servers, switches, and storage devices from one power source, enabling organized cabling and simplified power delivery in standard 19‑inch racks.
This PDU accepts 30 A at 200–208 V AC through a NEMA L6‑30P inlet and distributes power across fourteen IEC 60320 C13 outlets and two IEC 60320 C19 outlets. The configuration supports mixed device types, allowing connection of both lower‑current equipment and higher‑current appliances without the need for additional power strips or adapters.
The unit’s zero‑U vertical form factor attaches to the rack’s side or rear channel, preserving usable rack units for active equipment. A long power cord provides flexibility for rack placement relative to upstream power source locations. Internal overload protection helps guard against sustained overcurrent conditions, though the PDU does not incorporate metering or outlet switching.
Deployment environments for this unit include network closets, branch or satellite operations racks, and small data center racks where basic, high‑density power outlets are needed and remote power control or monitoring is not required.
This PDU is not intended for cases where remote outlet control, metered power usage feedback, or per‑outlet sequencing is operationally necessary; environments requiring those capabilities should use switched or metered PDUs.
