Overview
The APC AR7753 is a vertical exhaust duct (VED) kit engineered to manage thermal zoning and exhaust airflow in NetShelter SX 750 mm-wide enclosures. As rack densities increase and heat loads rise, proper hot-air removal becomes critical to maintaining stable intake temperatures. Left unchecked, exhaust air recirculation can degrade cooling efficiency and shorten equipment life. The AR7753 captures the hot exhaust air rising from high-power equipment and channels it upward into room return plenum or overhead pathways, reducing hot aisle contamination and improving data center cooling performance.This kit is optimized for short-range exhaust distances—designed to handle typical rack exhaust path lengths (roof to ceiling plenum or duct transitions) without excessive pressure drop. It includes baying hardware, duct panels, foam gasket strips, roof, mounting hardware, rear door and bottom sealing components, and installation guide. In real world deployment, it’s mounted atop the enclosure to seal off gaps and direct exhausted air upward. Combined with proper enclosure sealing and front-to-back airflow design, the AR7753 helps you increase cooling capacity per rack, enabling more IT load in the same space.In mixed data centers or high density zones, this kit paired with perforated doors and blanking panels mitigates internal recirculation. It’s especially useful in retrofit scenarios where the existing AC return path is above rack level, or where facility architecture cannot support
