Overview
The APC SBP3000RM is a rackmount service bypass panel engineered to provide a manual bypass path around an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) during maintenance, repair, or replacement. It allows critical loads to remain powered directly from utility power while the UPS is taken offline, preventing interruption to connected servers, storage systems, network switches, and other essential infrastructure. Facility engineers and IT operations teams deploy this panel in data centers, equipment rooms, and network closets where continuous uptime is required.
This panel supports 100–240V AC input and output, making it compatible with a wide range of voltage environments including North American 120V and international 230V systems. It is rated for up to 30 A maximum current, enabling bypass of UPS units serving loads up to approximately 4800 VA when loads are well balanced and within capacity. The panel features hardwired three‑wire (phase, neutral, ground) connections for both utility input and UPS/load output. Bypass can be manually engaged via an accessible lever or switch mechanism, routing utility power directly to the load bus.
Designed for 19‑inch rack installation, the SBP3000RM occupies 2U of rack height and includes mounting hardware. Its form factor aligns with UPS and power distribution layouts in equipment racks, simplifying integration into existing power infrastructure. The bypass panel does not provide power conditioning, surge suppression, or battery backup—its sole purpose is to maintain power continuity during UPS service procedures.
This product is not suitable as a standalone source of power protection or as a long‑term power continuity solution. It is specifically intended for UPS maintenance operations where bypassing the UPS without interrupting load power is required.
