Overview :

The APC SMT3000RM2UNC is a rack-mount line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed to protect rack-based IT infrastructure operating on a 120V power ecosystem. It is deployed by network engineers, system administrators, and facilities teams responsible for maintaining power continuity for servers, network switching equipment, and storage appliances. The UPS provides battery backup and power conditioning to mitigate utility disturbances including voltage sags, over-voltage events, and electrical noise.

The system delivers 3000VA / 2700W output capacity using a line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR). AVR corrects low-voltage and over-voltage conditions without switching to battery power, preserving battery runtime for actual outages. Output power is delivered as a pure sine-wave, which supports IT equipment with active PFC power supplies commonly found in enterprise servers and network hardware.

Power input is provided through a NEMA L5-30P connector, allowing connection to 30-amp 120V circuits typically found in server rooms and network closets. The UPS distributes protected power through six NEMA 5-15R outlets and two NEMA 5-20R outlets, supporting multiple rack devices or a rack PDU. A typical deployment scenario includes a branch office rack running virtualization hosts and network aggregation switches where 120V rack PDUs are used. The UPS maintains power stability and provides several minutes of runtime for graceful system shutdown or generator failover.
