Overview
The APC SRT10KXLTUS is a high-capacity double-conversion online uninterruptible power supply designed to provide continuous conditioned power to critical infrastructure. It is typically deployed in enterprise server racks, network aggregation environments, and edge data center installations where uninterrupted operation is required. The UPS isolates connected equipment from electrical disturbances such as outages, voltage sag, harmonic distortion, and frequency instability by continuously regenerating AC output from a DC power stage.
This system delivers 10kVA / 10kW power capacity, making it suitable for racks containing multiple servers, storage arrays, or high-density networking platforms. The UPS operates using a double-conversion online topology with pure sine wave output, ensuring compatibility with enterprise-class power supplies using active power factor correction. Input power is typically hardwired to a 208V circuit, and the system provides multiple L6-series receptacles for distribution to protected equipment.
The chassis supports rack or tower installation, allowing deployment flexibility in equipment rooms, network aggregation closets, and small data center environments. In rack deployments the unit occupies approximately 6U of rack space, supporting installation in standard 19-inch cabinets alongside servers and storage infrastructure. The UPS can also operate as a tower unit in facilities where rack mounting is not required or space constraints dictate floor placement.
Operational management is provided through integrated network management capabilities with Ethernet connectivity and a SmartSlot expansion interface. Administrators can monitor load levels, battery status, and power events through SNMP, web interfaces, and infrastructure management platforms. USB and serial interfaces also support direct communication with server shutdown software for coordinated system shutdown during extended power loss events.
A typical deployment scenario includes a rack containing several virtualization hosts, a SAN storage system, and aggregation switches. In this environment the UPS maintains conditioned output power and provides runtime to allow failover, workload migration, or controlled shutdown of connected infrastructure.
This model is not intended for small branch racks or low-power network cabinets. Installations protecting a single server or small network stack typically deploy lower-capacity 1–3kVA rack UPS systems instead of large 10kVA platforms.
