Overview

The Eaton 9PX6KP1 is a double-conversion online uninterruptible power supply engineered for medium-to-large IT environments requiring continuous, conditioned power. It is deployed by data center engineers, network architects, and IT operations teams to protect rack-mounted servers, storage systems, and networking equipment from voltage sags, surges, and full utility outages.

This UPS delivers 6000VA / 5400W output with a unity power factor, providing true sine wave output compatible with modern active PFC loads. Input voltage ranges from 200–240V AC, and output voltages are selectable across 200–240V. The system includes input and output connectors suitable for NEMA and IEC connections and maintains ±1% voltage regulation under load. An internal bypass feature ensures continuous power during maintenance or internal faults, while hot-swappable VRLA batteries support uninterrupted operation.

The 9PX6KP1 is optimized for deployment in 19-inch rack infrastructures, including IDF/MDF network closets, branch office racks, and small data center cabinets. Its 2U rack height allows integration alongside servers, network switches, and PDUs without consuming excessive rack space, making it suitable for constrained or high-density environments.

Integration with Eaton’s management ecosystem is provided via the MiniSlot interface, allowing the addition of network, relay, or Modbus cards. USB and RS-232 ports enable direct monitoring, and Eaton Intelligent Power Software supports centralized monitoring and controlled shutdown across virtualized and physical workloads, ensuring continuity during extended outages.

In practical deployment, the 9PX6KP1 supports multiple servers, storage devices, and network equipment in a single rack, providing enough runtime for graceful shutdown during outages. Output grouping enables prioritization of critical loads when operating on battery, ensuring high availability for essential systems.

This UPS is not suitable for three-phase environments, parallel UPS configurations, or deployments requiring more than its rated 5400W output without external battery modules. Low-load environments where online efficiency overhead is not justified are also outside its recommended usage.
