Eaton B161-001 HDMI Over IP Decoder
Overview
The Eaton B161-001 is an HDMI over IP decoder designed for AV distribution systems, digital signage networks, control rooms, and large-scale video deployment environments requiring network-based video transmission.
It receives compressed HDMI video streams over standard Gigabit Ethernet (TCP/IP) networks and outputs HDMI video to a display device. When paired with a compatible B161-series encoder, it enables point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or fully scalable IP-based video distribution across LAN infrastructure.
The system supports up to 4K video transmission with low-latency compression and is designed for structured AV-over-IP architectures using managed network switches. It also includes USB KVM support, allowing keyboard and mouse control of remote systems through the same network link.
Typical deployments include airports, corporate campuses, surveillance centers, retail signage networks, and education environments where centralized video control and flexible display routing are required.
This unit is not a standalone HDMI switch or matrix; it requires a compatible encoder and network infrastructure to function.
