Overview
The Eaton BP180RT3UTAA is a 3U rack/tower Extended Battery Module (EBM) designed for Eaton SmartOnline double-conversion UPS systems. It is used to increase runtime for mission-critical loads by adding external battery capacity to compatible 5–6 kVA UPS units.
This module is specifically paired with UPS systems such as the SU6000RT3UTAA, where it enables scalable runtime expansion through daisy-chaining additional battery packs.
It operates at a 180V DC battery bus architecture, using sealed VRLA battery strings to maintain stable energy delivery during extended outages. The system is engineered for data centers, telecom infrastructure, and high-availability server environments where runtime predictability is critical.
The enclosure is designed for 3U rack mounting or tower configuration, including hardware for both deployment styles. It is not a standalone UPS and cannot supply power without a compatible SmartOnline UPS system.
