Overview
The Eaton NGS16C2POE-1 is a Layer 2 managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for enterprise access networks, PoE device aggregation, and edge data-center switching. It provides both copper access ports and fiber uplink capability for hybrid network deployments in structured IT environments.
It includes 16 × 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with PoE+ support and 2 × Gigabit SFP uplink slots, enabling flexible fiber backbone integration. The switch is commonly deployed for powering IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and edge compute nodes while maintaining centralized network management.
The platform supports Layer 2/Layer 3 feature sets including VLAN segmentation, STP/RSTP, QoS, port monitoring, and SNMP-based management, making it suitable for controlled enterprise LAN environments and rack-based network distribution.
With a PoE budget up to ~220W, it can power multiple mid-to-high power PoE devices simultaneously while maintaining Gigabit throughput across all ports.
This model is intended for managed access layer deployments and is not designed for core routing, high-throughput spine switching, or PoE++ high-power industrial lighting systems.
