Eaton NGS8C2-1 Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch
Overview
The Eaton NGS8C2-1 is a Layer 2 managed Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for enterprise LAN expansion, edge networking, SMB infrastructure, and rack-based network aggregation. It provides managed switching functionality with Gigabit copper connectivity and dedicated SFP uplink support for fiber integration.
The switch includes eight auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and two dedicated Gigabit SFP uplink ports for high-speed backbone connectivity. Built-in web-based management software supports VLAN configuration, IGMP snooping, trunking, QoS, port monitoring, SNMP, and traffic management features used in enterprise and distributed network deployments.
The NGS8C2-1 supports rack-mount and desktop deployment using its 1U metal chassis and included mounting hardware. Energy Efficient Ethernet functionality reduces power consumption on inactive links without interrupting network operation. The switch is suitable for branch offices, white-space installations, network closets, and data-center edge environments requiring manageable Gigabit connectivity.
This model is compatible with standard Cat5e/6/6a copper infrastructure and Gigabit SFP uplink modules. It is not intended for PoE-powered device deployments or Layer 3 routing applications requiring advanced routing protocols.
