The Eaton P580F-000 is a high-bandwidth DisplayPort-to-MPO fiber optic extender termination kit from the Tripp Lite series. AV systems integration teams and data center engineers deploy this kit to extend ultra-high-definition video signals over long structural distances without signal degradation. By adapting a standard digital DisplayPort connection to an MPO optical interface, it eliminates the attenuation and electromagnetic interference issues native to copper cables in high-density environments.

This termination kit supports native Ultra HD 8K resolutions at 60 Hz and 4K resolutions at 120 Hz with an aggregate bandwidth capacity up to 32.4 Gbps. It features uncompressed 4:4:4 chroma subsampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR) profiles for deep contrast, and HDCP 2.3 encryption handling to ensure protected content pipelines remain intact. The hardware terminates into a male DisplayPort connection on one side and an integrated 12-fiber MPO male connection alongside a USB-A power tap on the other side.

In practice, the module acts as a pigtail extension directly at the source and display hardware layers, routing the bulk optical signal through in-wall or overhead fiber pathways. The cable assembly features a Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) rated aqua jacket, making it fully compliant with stringent commercial facility fire codes for plenum and riser installations. Power is pulled directly from a standard 5V USB port via the integrated USB-A connection tail, negating the need for external AC wall transformers.

The kit requires a companion 8-fiber multimode OM3 Type-A polarity MPO fiber optic backbone cable to establish the structural link, which must be sourced separately. It is fully compatible with Eaton Tripp Lite N844A-Series OM3 fiber infrastructure and supports active distances up to 328 feet (100 meters). This extender kit must not be used over single-mode fiber architectures, non-Type-A polarity cables, or in infrastructure configurations that require stereoscopic 3D video passthrough.
