Overview

The Eaton PDUMNV20LX is a monitored rack‑mount power distribution unit designed for structured IT power distribution with remote electrical monitoring. It is deployed by data centre engineers, facilities teams, and infrastructure technicians who need power feed visibility and integration into management frameworks for cabinets and racks. This model provides real‑time monitoring of voltage, current and frequency over a network interface via Eaton’s LX Platform.

This PDU supports single‑phase 120 VAC distribution at a continuous 16 A rating with a total capacity of ~1.9 kW. It includes 24 NEMA 5‑15/20R outlets distributed vertically in a 0 U form factor that installs without consuming cabinet space. The input is a 10 ft cord terminating in a NEMA L5‑20P plug with a 5‑20P adapter for flexible connection to standard circuits.

Mechanically, PDUMNV20LX is suited for 19‑inch EIA standard rack environments where operators need remote power metrics for capacity planning and trending. It mounts vertically alongside rack posts and supports tool‑less mounting buttons or included brackets, and a PDUMVROTATEBRKT kit allows outlet orientation to face rear if needed.

Integration points include a built‑in LX Platform network interface offering IP‑based monitoring via HTML5 web UI, SNMP (v1/v2/v3), Telnet/SSH, SMTP, DHCP and other protocols. This enables PDUMNV20LX to feed power data into DCIM tools and automation workflows, and it supports optional environmental monitoring modules (sold separately).

In practice, this PDU is used where remote visibility of rack load and mains conditions is required without per‑outlet switching; it allows tracking of total rack load and helps avoid circuit overloads. It is not a switched PDU, so individual outlets cannot be power‑cycled remotely. It also does not include upstream UPS battery backup or motorized control.
