Overview

The Eaton SRSHELF2P1U is a fixed cantilever rack shelf designed to add usable support space inside standard 19‑inch server racks and enclosures. It is deployed by network and systems engineers to mount non‑rack equipment — such as console monitors, KVMs, small UPS units, patch panels, or test gear — where a traditional 1U rack hole pattern does not accommodate a bracketed component.

This accessory occupies 1U of vertical space and mounts via cantilever brackets to either 2‑post or 4‑post rack frames. It is constructed from cold‑rolled steel with a black finish and includes the required mounting hardware. The shelf provides a stable horizontal surface with a load capacity rated up to 40 lb (≈ 18.1 kg).

The shelf’s 12‑inch (≈ 305 mm) depth supports a variety of auxiliary equipment, enabling structured placement without consuming multiple rack units. Its fixed design means it does not slide or adjust once installed — making it suitable for static load requirements in data centers, wiring closets, and back‑office network racks.

Installation is straightforward and uses EIA‑310‑E compatible rack mounting points, maintaining alignment with standard equipment rack positions. It is compatible with SmartRack and other industry‑standard enclosures.

A practical deployment includes using the shelf to support a rack‑mount console before the installation of active equipment, or as a platform for peripherals that require firm support but lack dedicated mounting ears. Two shelves can be installed back‑to‑back in a wider frame for deeper support if required.

This shelf is not intended for dynamic loads or as a mount point for heavy UPS systems or servers; it should only support equipment weights within its rated capacity and be installed where cantilever support is structurally suitable.
