Overview

The Eaton PDUMH15HVAT is a 1U rack‑mount power distribution unit (PDU) combining automatic transfer switching (ATS) with local metering. IT engineers and data center infrastructure teams deploy it where redundant single‑phase power feeds must supply single‑corded IT equipment without interruption. It solves the risk of downtime from primary power loss by switching to a secondary feed within milliseconds.

This unit accepts dual IEC‑320 C14 inputs from separate primary and secondary single‑phase sources in the 200–240 V voltage ecosystem. It provides 10 IEC‑320 C13 outlets capable of supporting a total load up to ~2.4 kW/10 A, with a built‑in digital ammeter that displays total output current.

Physically, the PDUMH15HVAT occupies 1U of horizontal rack space in 19‑inch EIA‑standard racks and includes rack mounting hardware. Its dual input cords (3.6 m/12 ft each) allow flexible connection to disparate power feeds such as UPS systems, backup generators, or separate mains circuits.

Integration with structured rack power ecosystems is straightforward; included plug‑lock inserts secure C13 connections against accidental disconnection and the front panel LEDs provide immediate visual status for inputs and outlets. Optional SNMPWEBCARD/WEBCARDLX cards can be installed to enable remote metering and control via SNMP or web interfaces, although these are sold separately.

In a deployment example, the PDUMH15HVAT ensures connected switches and edge servers remain powered during a primary feed failure in branch IDF closets or core data center racks. This PDU is not appropriate where per‑outlet switched control or individual outlet metering is required without optional management cards installed, since its core metering capability reports only total current draw.
