Overview

The Eaton PDUMH20ATNET is a 1U automatic transfer switch (ATS) and switched rack power distribution unit (PDU) designed for single‑phase IT power distribution with redundant feed capability and network‑based control. It is deployed by data center and infrastructure teams where continuous AC power and remote control/monitoring of rack loads are required. This unit bridges two AC sources and maintains output power by switching between them to support critical equipment in the rack.

Electrically, the PDU accepts two NEMA L5‑20P / 5‑20P input feeds on 12 ft cables and distributes power to sixteen NEMA 5‑15/20R outlets in a 120 V, 1.9 kW, 16 A capacity configuration. The integrated switched output allows remote control of connected outlets over the network interface, with a front‑panel ammeter for real‑time output current monitoring.

This PDU fits horizontally in a standard 19‑inch rack’s 1U space, suitable for wiring closets, branch data closets, edge racks, or core nodes where redundant UPS or dual‑feed power is available. It also supports SNMP and web‑based management through Eaton’s LX platform interface.

The device integrates with rack cable management and UPS systems effectively, enabling dual‑UPS feed configurations (primary and secondary) and participation in centralized power monitoring systems via Ethernet.

In practical deployment, PDUMH20ATNET can be used in a branch or campus rack powering servers and networking gear from two UPS sources. When primary feed power is lost or unstable, the ATS automatically switches to the secondary feed without interrupting rack output. It is not suitable where single‑input basic PDUs suffice (no ATS needed) or where modular hot‑swap outlet level redundancy or phase balancing beyond single phase is required.
