The Eaton PDUMV20‑24 is a basic metered power distribution unit (PDU) designed for vertical rack mounting in IT closets, server rooms, and network cabinets. It provides reliable AC outlet power distribution from UPS systems, utility mains, or generators to multiple rack‑mounted devices with an integrated local current meter to visually report real‑time load. Technicians and network engineers use this PDU where monitoring aggregate load and managing rack power capacity are required without networked intelligence.

This PDU accepts a single‑phase 100 – 127 VAC input at up to 20 A and is derated to a continuous 16 A output capacity (≈1.92 kW at 120 V). The attached 15 ft (4.57 m) power cord terminates in a NEMA L5‑20P plug with a removable NEMA 5‑20P adapter, making it compatible with common 20 A receptacles. Six NEMA 5‑15/20R outlets deliver AC power downstream.

Mechanically, the PDUMV20‑24 is a 0U (vertical) rack PDU ~24″ (61 cm) high constructed from aluminum and designed to mount on the vertical posts of standard 19″ racks. It installs without consuming horizontal rack space and includes toolless button mounts plus optional bolt‑down brackets for secure attachment.

The built‑in digital current meter on the front panel reports total combined output current in amperes to help prevent overloads as loads increase. Basic overload protection is provided by an integrated 20 A circuit breaker. There is no network connectivity or switched outlet control on this model; it serves purely as a monitored distribution strip.

A practical deployment example is in a small server or edge rack where several network switches and a firewall need AC power from a UPS. The PDUMV20‑24’s local metering lets a technician verify that the load remains within limits during normal operation and helps plan capacity before adding additional gear.
