Overview
The Eaton U420F-20M-D3 is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 active optical cable designed for long-distance USB-C data connectivity in commercial AV, enterprise, and data-center environments. It uses fiber optic transmission to maintain signal integrity across 20-meter runs where passive copper USB cables are not reliable.
This cable supports up to 10 Gbps data transfer rates and is intended for data-only applications such as external storage, surveillance systems, conference room infrastructure, and USB-C peripheral extension. Its plenum-rated CMP jacket supports installation in ceilings, ducts, and other in-wall deployment areas requiring low-smoke cabling compliance.
The slim fiber construction improves routing flexibility in racks, overhead trays, and constrained pathways compared to standard copper USB cables. The cable is bus-powered and supports major operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
This model is suitable for long-distance USB-C data transport where stable throughput and clean cable routing are required. It is not intended for USB charging applications above 1A or compatibility with older USB generations such as USB 2.0 or USB 3.2 Gen 1 devices.
