Eaton U420F-30M-V Tripp Lite 4K 60Hz HDR 30m Fiber Optic Cable
Overview
The Eaton U420F-30M-V is a high-performance Tripp Lite Series USB-C to USB-C fiber optic active optical cable (AOC) designed for transmitting high-resolution audio and video signals over extended distances. This plenum-rated cable provides a reliable solution for connecting USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 enabled source devices, such as laptops or media servers, to compatible USB-C displays including HDTVs, monitors, or projectors. Utilizing optical fiber technology, it ensures signal integrity without latency or loss across its 30-meter (98-foot) length, a significant advantage over traditional copper cabling. Capable of supporting Ultra HD resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 (4K x 2K) at 60 Hz, the U420F-30M-V delivers crystal-clear visuals. It also supports High Dynamic Range (HDR) video, which enhances image quality with richer contrast, brighter whites, and deeper blacks, making content pop on 4K displays. Furthermore, the cable is HDCP 2.2 compliant, enabling seamless streaming of protected 4K content, and supports 4:4:4 chroma subsampling for superior color accuracy, crucial for professional applications or high-end PC gaming. Designed for flexible deployment in complex IT environments, this cable is notably slimmer and more pliable than standard copper cables, simplifying installation around corners or in constricted spaces. Its plenum (CMP) rating allows for safe installation in air ducts and drop ceilings, adhering to strict fire safety codes for horizontal premise applications. The cable draws its power directly from the connected device, eliminating the need for an external power supply and streamlining overall system architecture. Proper directional installation, indicated by “Source” and “Display” labels on the connectors, is essential for optimal functionality.
