EXTREME NETWORKS 25G-DACP-SFPZ5M – Direct Attach Copper Cable
Overview
The EXTREME NETWORKS 25G-DACP-SFPZ5M is an enterprise-grade, passive direct attach copper (DAC) twinaxial cable assembly custom-engineered for ultra-short range, high-density server-to-switch and switch-to-switch interconnect topologies. This high-velocity 25 Gigabit interconnect resolves structural power budgets and thermal dissipation issues within high-density computing racks by providing an electrical signaling pathway that draws zero operating power from the host system. It establishes immediate, line-rate link optimization without the hardware costs or architectural complexities associated with optical fiber transceivers.
The cable architecture features a premium twinaxial shielded copper core factory-terminated with hot-pluggable Small Form-factor Pluggable 28 (SFP28) housings on both endpoints.
Tailored for deployment in mission-critical corporate data centers, high-frequency financial clusters, and service provider core environments, this cable hooks up top-of-rack (ToR) distribution switches directly to neighboring network attached storage (NAS) devices or physical server nodes. It maintains full native compatibility with Extreme Networks enterprise hardware platforms, including the X695, 5420, 5520, and 5720 universal switching series.
