The Extreme Networks 4220-48P-4X is a cloud-managed Layer 2 Ethernet switch designed for enterprise edge, campus, branch, and distributed network deployments. It provides high-density Gigabit connectivity with integrated PoE+ support for powering wireless access points, IP phones, cameras, and IoT devices.

The switch features 48 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ access ports and 4 high-speed 1/10Gb SFP+ uplink/stacking ports. Built on the ExtremeCloud IQ management platform, it simplifies deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting while supporting enterprise-grade wired network requirements.

This model is suitable for wiring closets, branch offices, education environments, and enterprise access-layer deployments requiring centralized cloud management and PoE connectivity. It is not intended for data-center core switching applications requiring 25GbE or 100GbE uplinks.
