Extreme Networks AP4020FX-WW – Wi-Fi 7 Access Point
Overview :
The AP4020FX-WW is an enterprise-grade Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) indoor access point designed for high-density wireless deployments in data centers, campuses, and large enterprise environments.
It is part of Extreme Networks’ Universal Hardware AP platform, supporting cloud-managed and controller-based deployment via ExtremeCloud IQ / Platform ONE. The unit is typically used by enterprise IT teams to deliver high-throughput, low-latency wireless connectivity for modern client loads, IoT devices, and mission-critical applications.
This model uses a quad-radio architecture (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz + dedicated sensor) and supports external antennas via RP-SMA connectors, making it suitable for flexible RF coverage designs where internal antenna APs are not sufficient.
Deployment is typically seen in:
- Enterprise campus wireless networks
- High-density office environments
- Industrial / edge environments requiring external antenna tuning
- Secure managed WLAN infrastructure
Not suitable for:
- Small home networks (overkill, controller dependency)
- Standalone plug-and-play deployments without Extreme management platform
Key Features :
- Wi-Fi 7 quad-radio design for high-density enterprise WLAN performance
- External RP-SMA antennas support flexible RF coverage tuning
- Dedicated security sensor radio for continuous threat monitoring
- Dual Ethernet multi-gig uplinks up to 5 Gbps for high throughput
- Cloud or controller-managed via ExtremeCloud IQ Platform ONE
