HP BK780B – SN6000 Stackable Fibre Channel Switch
Overview :
The HPE BK780B is a managed Fibre Channel (FC) switch designed for storage-area network (SAN) deployments in enterprise data centres and large-scale storage environments. It addresses the need to connect multiple storage devices and servers at 8 Gb/s FC speeds while enabling stacking for scalability. The unit supports device ports at 8/4/2 Gb/s and stacking ports at 10/20 Gb/s, which allows it to serve in edge racks, main data-centre SANs or campus-storage aggregation layers. It fits into 1 U rack space and integrates with HPE SAN management tools such as SAN Connection Manager (SCM) and Transparent Router mode for seamless fabric extension. Because it is stackable and supports upgrades, it can grow from small installations toward larger multi-chassis fabrics without replacing the base switch.
