Overview :
The HP J9642A is the 6‑slot modular chassis switch targeted at networking engineers and IT teams deploying high‑capacity, flexible infrastructure. It supports installation of a variety of 10/100/1000 and 10 GbE modules and is designed to solve the challenge of scaling ports, uplinks and features in enterprise‑edge or distribution layer environments. With support for up to 48 10 GbE or 144 autosensing gigabit ports (or mini‑GBICs) it provides significant density in a 4U form factor. This chassis fits in campus core, data‑centre aggregation or large branch edge deployments where slot‑based modularity is required. It integrates into HP’s (now HPE) management ecosystem including CLI, web GUI and SNMP based systems—as part of a unified wired and wireless infrastructure.
