Overview
This module is an SFP+ (Small Form-factor Pluggable Plus) optical transceiver designed to deliver reliable, high-speed 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for HPE BladeSystem c-Class enclosures and compatible networking equipment. Its primary role is to extend network reach over long distances within a data center or across a campus backbone, solving the critical problem of connecting servers and switches that are physically separated beyond the limits of standard copper or short-range optical cabling. It enables robust, long-haul communication links essential for modern distributed applications and data replication. The transceiver operates over standard single-mode fiber (SMF) optic cables, utilizing a 1310nm laser wavelength to transmit data reliably up to 10 kilometers (approximately 6.2 miles).
