Part of the HPE Aruba 5400 zl series, this chassis is built on a programmable ProVision ASIC fabric delivering up to ~760 Gbps switching capacity (379.2 Gbps per half‑chassis) and enterprise‑grade Layer 2–4 services such as OSPF, RIP, static routing, IPv6, policy-based routing, and OpenFlow support—all without separate licensing .
Advanced Options
The chassis includes 6 slots supporting PoE+ line cards or high-speed uplinks. It comes pre-populated with two module cards (e.g. a 24-port PoE+ and a 20-port PoE+ plus 4× SFP uplink module), with four slots free for future expansion. A 1500 W internal PoE+ supply (J9306A) is included, and hot-swappable redundant PSUs can be added to ensure high availability .
