HPE JL081A – 4-Port Smart-Rate PoE+ Expansion Module
Overview
The HPE JL081A is a field-installable uplink/expansion module designed for the Aruba 3810M and 2930M switch series. It provides four RJ-45 ports that support 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps speeds (Smart-Rate) over copper cabling, each port also supporting PoE+. This gives network engineers a way to add high-speed, multi-gig uplinks or device links (for high-bandwidth Wi-Fi access points, aggregation links) without moving to fiber immediately. It fits into the dedicated uplink slot of compatible chassis and makes use of existing copper infrastructure while preparing for multi-gig traffic.This module is best used in rack-mount campus switches where you need to connect multi-gig client or uplink devices and want PoE support from those ports as well. It complements existing deployments of Aruba 3810M/2930M network switches and integrates into the overall campus switching architecture.
