Overview
The HPE JL827A is a Layer 3 access switch from the FlexNetwork 5140 EI series, engineered for medium to large-scale enterprise campus networks. It provides a scalable, high-availability solution for access layer deployments, effectively addressing the need for robust connectivity for end-user devices, IP phones, wireless access points, and IP cameras. This switch is equipped with 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports and four 10GbE SFP+ uplinks, delivering ample power and high-speed connections to the network core. A key technology is HPE’s Intelligent Resilient Fabric (IRF), which allows up to nine switches to be stacked and managed as a single logical device. This simplifies network architecture, enhances resiliency, and increases performance without adding operational complexity. Designed for straightforward integration, the JL827A fits into a standard 1U rack space. Management is streamlined through embedded tools like the Smart Management Center (SmartMC), which offers a web-based GUI for centralized operations. For broader, end-to-end network visibility and policy control, it can be managed by HPE Intelligent Management Center (IMC).
