Overview:

The Intellinet 507486 is a Cisco-compatible 10GBase-ER SFP+ transceiver module designed for extended-reach 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections over single-mode fiber. It is used by network engineers and data center technicians to provide 10 Gbps uplinks over long distances in metropolitan area networks, campus networks, and service provider environments.

This SFP+ transceiver solves the challenge of connecting switches, routers, and servers over fiber optic cabling at 10 Gbps speeds over distances up to 40 kilometers. It is a cost-effective alternative to OEM Cisco transceivers while maintaining full compatibility with Cisco networking equipment. The module operates at 1550 nm wavelength and supports distances up to 40 km (24.9 miles) over single-mode fiber.

Deployment is in any Cisco switch or router with an SFP+ port that supports 10GBase-ER optics. The module is hot-swappable, supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), and carries a lifetime warranty from Intellinet. It is not suitable for multi-mode fiber applications, shorter-range 10GBase-SR/LR applications where it would be over-specified and more expensive, or for use in non-Cisco equipment where compatibility has not been verified.
