Intellinet 523882 – Gigabit RJ45 Copper SFP Transceiver
Overview :
Gigabit RJ45 copper SFP transceiver module enabling 1000BASE-T connectivity over standard Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in SFP-equipped networking equipment. Deployed by network engineers, data center operations staff, and infrastructure architects for integrating copper uplinks into fiber-based switches, routers, and firewalls that accept SFP form factor modules.
Provides 1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over distances up to 100 meters (328 feet) using standard unshielded twisted-pair Cat5e or better cabling. Functions as a direct replacement for fiber SFP optics in applications requiring copper connectivity where fiber infrastructure is unavailable or cost-prohibitive.
Manufactured to comply with MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) standards, ensuring interoperability across all major networking vendors including Cisco, Juniper, HP, Dell, and Arista. Auto-negotiation support enables seamless link establishment at 10/100/1000 Mbps depending on the host device and connected endpoint.
Hot-swappable design allows installation and removal without powering down the host device. Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) support provides real-time monitoring of temperature, voltage, bias current, and signal levels for proactive network management.
Deployed in enterprise campus networks, data center top-of-rack switching, service provider edge equipment, and metropolitan area network infrastructure. Compatible with any SFP port supporting 1000BASE-T copper SFP modules per MSA specifications.
Not suitable for fiber-optic connectivity; this is a copper RJ45 SFP only. Does not support SFP+ (10G) speeds despite physical compatibility – will operate at 1G maximum. Not compatible with SFP ports that do not support 1000BASE-T copper SFP modules (some legacy SFP ports support fiber only). Verify host compatibility before deployment.
