Overview :

Designed for data center infrastructure administrators and network engineers, this Opengear SX SFP fiber transceiver resolves short-reach optical connectivity requirements by linking management gateways and network switches directly to multi-mode fiber infrastructure. It ensures high-speed, low-latency data transmission to maintain continuous out-of-band management and network telemetry.

Operating at a nominal wavelength of 850nm using a Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL), this hot-pluggable module supports Gigabit Ethernet speeds (1GbE) with a maximum transmission distance of up to 550 meters over 50/125 micrometers multi-mode fiber. It terminates via a compact duplex LC connector interface.

Engineered for deployment within enterprise data centers, campus networks, and wiring closets. It integrates seamlessly into SFP slots on Opengear operations managers, resilience gateways, and compatible routing hardware without requiring specialized configuration tools.

Fully compatible with Opengear OM1200, OM2200, and other Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) compliant networking hardware equipped with 1GbE SFP slots. Do not use this multi-mode transceiver for single-mode fiber runs or long-distance deployments exceeding 550 meters.
