By integrating 8 RJ45 RS-232 serial console ports with a managed 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch into a single fanless 1U half-depth chassis, the OM1308-8E provides resilient Smart Out-of-Band (Smart OOB™) management and local network consolidation without requiring separate switching hardware.

Powered by an ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core 1.6 GHz processor with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32 GB eMMC storage, and an embedded TPM 2.0 cryptoprocessor, the OM1308-8E supports edge automation workflows including Python scripting and Docker containers. NetOps teams can manage and orchestrate the unit remotely through Opengear Lighthouse software to ensure reliable access and rapid remediation during primary WAN outages.
