The Oracle 8205846 is a high-capacity 18TB 12Gb/s SAS enterprise hard disk drive assembly. It is engineered specifically for use in demanding Oracle Exadata and ZFS storage environments, providing the massive density required for large-scale data center deployments.
The drive features a 7200 RPM spindle speed and is mounted on the specialized “Coral” bracket, which is designed to maintain operational stability and minimize vibration in high-density storage racks. This unit is critical for maintaining consistent storage performance in X8M, X9M, and compatible Exadata server platforms.
Compatibility is strictly limited to Oracle-certified storage appliances. It should not be used in non-Oracle general-purpose servers where specific firmware or bracket thermal requirements are not met.
