Ruckus 10G-SFPP-LRM SFP transceiver module 10GbE
Overview
The 10G-SFPP-LRM is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ transceiver module designed for cost-effective short-reach multimode fiber (MMF) uplinks or limited-distance single-mode fiber (SMF) use in enterprise wiring closets, data-center access layers, and campus backbone links. With support for 10 Gb/s full-duplex operation, this module lets network engineers populate existing MMF cabling (for example OM3/OM4) for 10G transport without the expense of rewiring to single-mode or installing longer-reach optics. It is typically used to connect switches within the same room or floor, support server uplinks, or link adjacent closets up to a couple of hundred metres. The LRM (Long Reach Multimode) designation means that it compensates for modal dispersion and allows use over legacy MMF segments (e.g., OM1 or OM2) up to certain distances, giving flexibility in inconsistent fiber plants. Moreover, the SFP+ form-factor supports hot-swapping, low power consumption and compatibility with a wide range of vendor switch platforms. For IT hardware procurement, this module offers a pragmatic migration path to 10 GbE in networks where budget constraints or fibre-cable plant restrictions apply.
Key Features
