The StarTech HB31C5A2CME is a high-bandwidth, industrial-grade USB 3.2 Gen 2 hub designed for high-performance data environments. It is utilized by automation engineers, software developers, and IT technicians who require high-speed 10Gbps throughput for modern peripherals like NVMe storage, high-resolution cameras, and advanced sensors in rugged or factory settings.
Technically, the hub features a 7-port configuration consisting of five USB-A ports and two USB-C ports, all supporting Gen 2 speeds. To ensure reliability in electrically “noisy” environments, it integrates 15kV Air and 8kV Contact Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection. The unit is engineered with a wide-range DC power input (7V to 35V) via a 2-wire terminal block, allowing it to be integrated directly into industrial power systems and ensuring that each port receives a full 10W (5V/2A) of power for high-draw devices.
Deployment is optimized for durability with an IP30-rated heavy-duty metal enclosure. It includes integrated mounting brackets and a DIN-rail kit, providing flexible installation options on walls, under desks, or within server racks. The hub features a 3.3ft (1m) screw-locking USB-C host cable to prevent accidental disconnection caused by high-vibration machinery.
