Overview
The StarTech SATDOCK4U3RE is a standalone 4-bay SATA duplicator and docking station designed for disk cloning, data recovery, and secure erasure workflows in IT operations and forensic environments. It enables direct 1-to-3 duplication without requiring a host system, reducing dependency on software tools and improving operational efficiency.
It supports simultaneous cloning from one source drive to up to three target drives using sector-by-sector duplication, including HPA regions, with throughput up to 72 MB/s. The unit also functions as a 4-bay docking station via USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) or eSATA (3 Gbps), enabling direct host access for storage expansion and data transfer.
Deployment is desktop-based for labs, staging areas, and data centers where multiple drives must be cloned or sanitized quickly. It supports both 2.5″ and 3.5″ SATA HDDs/SSDs and includes secure erase functions aligned with compliance workflows. Not suitable for NVMe/M.2 environments, RAID configurations, or network-based duplication.
