The StarTech SV1631DUSBUK is an enterprise-grade 16-port KVM switch kit designed for high-density server management in data centers, server farms, and co-location facilities. This 1U rack-mountable solution allows a single administrator to control up to 16 USB-connected computers or servers from a single console (VGA monitor, USB keyboard, and USB mouse). The kit is “out-of-the-box” ready, including all 16 required 6ft 2-in-1 USB/VGA KVM cables.

Technically, the switch supports analog resolutions up to 1920×1440 (or 1920×1200 for widescreen displays) at 60Hz. It features a unique USB emulation engine that extracts keyboard and mouse strokes to ensure maximum compatibility with wireless combos and specialized HID peripherals. For larger deployments, the unit supports cascading, allowing administrators to manage up to 136 individual computers from a single master switch.

Management is facilitated through three primary interfaces: front-panel tactile buttons, keyboard hotkey commands, and an On-Screen Display (OSD). The OSD provides advanced configurability, including port naming and a security password feature to protect sensitive systems from unauthorized access. The rugged steel 1U chassis is built for 24/7 durability in harsh server room environments.
