Overview :

The RX1214RP 12-Bay Expansion Unit from Synology delivers a solution for volume expansion and data backup for RackStation RS2414+/RS2414RP+. It scales up the storage capacity of the Synology RS2414+/RS2414RP+ by an additional 12 hard drives on-the-fly, when connected directly to an expansion cable. The expansion unit is capable of housing both 2.5″ and 3.5″ SATA III hard drives and solid state drives.

With SATA III 6 Gb/s interface support, RackStation RX1214RP unleashes the full performance of the installed drives and provides an enhanced data transfer rate. The expansion unit can be easily managed through the RackStation’s DiskStation Manager (DSM) software. To ensure 24/7 service uptime, it is equipped with redundant power supplies, allowing automatic fail-over support if one of the PSUs is failed.
