Overview :
The TRENDnet TFC-1000S20 is a fiber media converter that bridges copper and single-mode fiber networks. It’s designed for technical environments where you need to extend gigabit Ethernet over long distances. On the copper side, it uses a 1000Base-T RJ-45 port with full-duplex operation, while the fiber side uses a 1000Base-LX SC-type connector supporting up to 20 km of single-mode link. The device supports port-level SNMP management, including settings for link-loss behavior and duplex mode via a dip switch or optional chassis. You can mount it on a wall or use it inside a 16-slot 19″ rack chassis (TFC-1600), which is useful for dense media-converter deployments. Its compact size and low power make it suitable for data-center edge, campus extension, or remote sites where fiber reach is critical.
