Overview :

The Xerox 497K19590 is a Smart Card Reader Kit designed specifically for the “tallneck” configuration (with mailbox/finisher) of Xerox VersaLink B605, B615, and C605 multifunction printers . It is intended for IT administrators and government or enterprise facility managers who need to enforce secure access to printer functions using Common Access Card (CAC), Personal Identity Verification (PIV), or SIPRNET authentication . The kit solves the problem of unauthorized printer access by requiring users to authenticate with a smart card before printing, copying, or scanning. The kit includes the hardware card reader and mounting components . Compatibility is restricted to tallneck VersaLink B605/B615 and C605 configurations with a mailbox or finisher present. This kit is not compatible with standard-height VersaLink models, other printer families, or devices lacking the required interface. MSRP is $158.00 .
