Overview

The APC AP4432A is a rack‑mount automatic transfer switch (ATS) engineered to maintain AC power continuity for single‑corded load segments in data racks by switching between redundant power sources without operator intervention. It’s deployed by data center engineers, facilities personnel, and electrical integrators where uptime and controlled power transfer are required between dual utility feeds or between utility and UPS sources.

This ATS is rated for a 30 A continuous input current at 200 / 208 V AC and supports a total power capacity up to ~4992 VA. It accepts two high‑current inputs and presents switched outputs to connected load devices, enabling uninterrupted service when one input source fails or is unavailable.

Physically, the unit occupies 2U of rack space and includes a robust mechanical switching mechanism designed for enterprise rack deployment. It integrates a field‑replaceable network management card (NMC3) for remote status, configuration, and logging via common management interfaces.

Installation is in horizontal orientation within server or network cabinets, adjacent to loads requiring automatic source switching.
