The APC AP8830 is a metered rack power distribution unit (PDU) that delivers controlled AC power distribution with active load monitoring for IT racks and equipment enclosures. This unit does not provide UPS backup power or surge suppression; its core function is reliable distribution of utility power with integrated metering feedback.
This model accepts a 100?120?V AC input at 20?A via a NEMA L5?20P connector, supplying up to approximately 1920?VA of load capacity through 24 NEMA 5?20R receptacles. The large number of evenly spaced outlets helps accommodate high?density equipment in standard racks without requiring multiple branch circuits.
The unit?s zero?U vertical rackmount design mounts along the side rails of a 19?inch rack, preserving horizontal rack units for active equipment deployment while maximizing outlet availability.
