Overview

APC AR8602A is a horizontal rack-mount cable management accessory designed to organize network and power cabling within standard 19-inch rack enclosures. Infrastructure engineers and data center technicians deploy this device to maintain structured cable routing across patch panels, switches, and other rack-mounted equipment where unmanaged cabling can obstruct airflow or complicate maintenance procedures.

The cable manager occupies 1U of rack space and installs directly into standard 19-inch EIA-310 equipment racks. It provides a structured routing channel with molded cable fingers and an integrated cover that helps maintain cable separation and proper bend radius when routing patch cords or fiber jumpers across the front of rack-mounted equipment.

Cable access slots and tie-off points allow front-to-rear routing, which helps technicians maintain consistent patch cable pathways when connecting switches, patch panels, or structured cabling systems. The design reduces cable strain on ports and improves accessibility during reconfiguration or maintenance activities.

The enclosure uses durable plastic cable fingers with a hinged cover, allowing cables to be organized while remaining accessible for moves, adds, and changes. High-density cable fingers support structured routing without excessive deflection when multiple cables are installed.

Included mounting hardware allows installation on the front or rear of the rack, and the accessory supports back-to-back installation with another cable manager using included configuration hardware. This allows administrators to create dual-sided cable routing channels when higher cable density is required within a rack enclosure.

This cable manager is intended for structured cabling environments where organized horizontal cable routing is required across rack equipment. It is not intended to support heavy power cables or vertical cable management requirements, which require dedicated vertical cable organizers.
